Here are the confirmed outcomes of “AEW Rampage” on August 26, 2022, as recorded by Wrestling Inc.
Tonight’s broadcast features two titles that are up for grabs. This match pits Claudio Castagnoli, Ring of Honor Champion, against Dustin Rhodes, a former champion. Last week, Castagnoli made an open challenge, and Rhodes accepted the offer.
After exchanging respectful handshakes, both men vowed to perform at their best. By July, Castagnoli had beaten Jonathan Gresham and claimed the title in the Death Before Dishonor event. Will he eventually lose his title?
Defending champion Wardlow faces up against Ryan Nemeth, captain of the Wingmen. On the episode of “Dynamite” on July 6, Wardlow defeated Scorpio Sky in a Street Fight to claim the championship.
Before that, he was a part of the band The Pinnacle with MJF, FTR, and Shawn Spears. He finally became sick of MJF’s treatment of him and walked away, eventually signing with AEW to join their squad.
The newlyweds Sammy Guevara and Tay Melo will face off against Ortiz and Ruby Soho, also a freshly formed duo. Guevara, Melo, and the rest of the Jericho Appreciation Society have had conflicts with Ortiz and Soho during the last several months. Their supporters include the Blackpool Combat Club and Eddie Kingston.
Tonight is the quarterfinals of the AEW Rampage World Trios Championship Tournament, featuring the House of Black’s Malakai Black, Brody King, and Buddy Matthews against the Dark Order’s John Silver, Alex Reynolds, and Preston “10” Vance. The victor will go on to the semifinals, where they will play Best Friends’ Orange Cassidy, Trent Beretta, and Chuck Taylor.
FTW Champion Hook and TBS Champion Jade Cargill will appear on the program to share their experiences as champions. While Cargill is the only TBS Champion after winning the tournament for the championship, Hook just took the FTW Title from Ricky Starks after accepting his open challenge.
