Shia LaBeouf Quits Olivia Wilde’s Film ‘Don’t Worry Darling’ Which denies all the False Rumors!

Actor Shia LaBeouf has spoken to refute reports that he was let go from Olivia Wilde‘s “Don’t Worry Darling” while prepping for 2020 filming.

According to LaBeouf, he walked away from the project because he didn’t think the performers were given enough time to prepare. Wilde discussed LaBeouf’s departure from her project for the first time in a cover story with Variety published on August 24.

In my capacity as a huge fan of his work, I must say this. He didn’t follow a method compatible with the values I insisted upon for my work. I don’t think his method is the most unusual approach to get the most pleasing results out of people since it appears to demand aggressive energy at times.

I think the unique approach to motivating individuals to give their all at work is to foster an atmosphere of safety and trust. Finally, I must safeguard the production and the actors’ safety. I was paid to do it,” Wilde said.

Before the story’s release, TheReleaseDates attempted to get a statement from LaBeouf’s agents, but they refused.

Thursday, LaBeouf emailed Variety denying he had been sacked and that he had “left the picture due to lack of rehearsal time” on August 17, 2020.

When asked about the Variety cover article, the actor provided two emails he claims to have written to Wilde on Wednesday and Thursday. LaBeouf said, “You and I both know the reasons for my leave,” in one of the emails.

I was fired from your picture because I couldn’t get rehearsal time with the other actors.

At the time of LaBeouf’s departure, it was reported that he had been sacked from the film by many sources inside the studio.

Another insider said the split was more about a mutual agreement that LaBeouf’s acting style didn’t mesh with Wilde’s. Wilde and Warner Bros. reps both passed on the opportunity to weigh in.

LaBeouf provided Variety with images of his August 2020 text conversations with Wilde, explaining his decision to withdraw from “Don’t Worry Darling.” He was initially supposed to play the significant role of Jack, but Harry Styles was chosen instead.

The messages indicate that on August 16, 2020, LaBeouf and Wilde met in Los Angeles to negotiate the actor’s departure from the project. Wilde thanked him for “letting me in on your thinking process” in a text message later that evening.

Not enjoyable, I understand. It’s never easy to disappoint someone, but I appreciate your honesty.

I appreciate your trusting me enough to enter this world with me and share a tale. It might have been amazing, and now I feel like a part of me has died. I want you to know how much your trust means to me. To me, that’s a present I can carry with me.

According to TheReleaseDates‘s reporting, the messages were received before the production could learn about Shia’s immersion process.

As stated in an email he wrote to Wilde first thing on Thursday morning, LaBeouf says he “formally” departed “Don’t Worry Darling” the following day, on August 17, 2020.

On August 19, 2020, two days after he claimed to have departed, he wrote an email to Variety in which he included a video that Wilde had reportedly provided him.

Wilde, seen in the video behind the wheel, can be heard saying, “not ready to give up on this yet.” She also suggests a conflict between LaBeouf and Florence Pugh, who plays Jack’s wife, Alice, in the film.

She adds in the video, “I feel like I’m not ready to give up on this yet; I, too, am upset and want to work things out.” I’m wondering if you’re willing to give this a go with me, with us, because I believe this could be a wake-up call for Miss Flo.

I understand your position, and I understand her position, but do you believe you two can make peace if she genuinely puts her mind and heart into it now? Exists any chance? What do you think? Are you going to tell me?

Wilde emailed LaBeouf, “You don’t have to be in my movies but don’t ever question me. “sometime between August 16 and 20. We firmly committed to this with a pinky swear. That’s significant around here.

Take a look at LaBeouf’s email to Wilde from last Wednesday:

Olivia,

That this message finds you encouraged, motivated, satisfied, and well. Every night before I go to sleep, I ask God to bless you and your loved ones with peace, prosperity, and health. Just before bedtime every single night.

My daughter Isabel is five months old and is only now starting to develop the second part of her laugh. My lovely wife Mia and I have reconnected and are working toward building a strong, loving family together.

I’m on a mission to help me find my redemption and righteousness (dirty word but fitting). After a year and a quarter of sobriety and profound self-reflection, I write to you with a moral compass that has never been a part of my life. I tried to get in touch with you a while back to apologize, and I hope you will forgive me for our unsuccessful business venture together.

Today’s email was motivated by your most recent Variety article. Your kind remarks about my work are very much appreciated; thank you. However, the story about why I was let go doesn’t quite add to me.

It’s no secret to any of us why I left. Unfortunately, I could not locate a time that worked for your actors and me to get together for rehearsals; therefore, I had to leave your project. For your reference, I have included screen captures of our conversation from that day and my reply to Tobey.

As I am still persona-non-grata and may stay so for the rest of my life, I know that you are starting your publicity blitz for DWD and that the news of my termination is enticing clickbait.

Speaking of my daughter, I frequently ponder the newspaper stories she will read once she learns to read. Even though I am indebted and will remain so for the rest of my life, my debts are all the results of my own doing.

Although I have severe issues with Twigs, this is not the story that has been told. I have been silent because I am trying to tread carefully through this delicate circumstance out of respect for her and the truth. But a court date to address the facts of the case involving your film and my “firing” will never occur.

If a falsehood is said often enough, people will start to believe it. My poor choices have made it more challenging to dig myself out of the financial hole I’ve created for my loved ones.

Olivia, there was never any intention to fire me. Even while I see the appeal of promoting such a narrative in light of the present social climate and the social currency it provides, I disagree with it. The opposite is true.

Because I am an upright citizen who wants to see things put right, I respectfully request that you update the story as accurately as possible. I pray that this has no adverse consequences on you and that the movie achieves all of its goals.

Wishing You Every Blessing,

Shia
