Release of “AGT” Drake Milligan, admits he was “worried” about performing his last song.

After the country singer’s electrifying performance of his original song “Sounds Like Something I’d Do” in the season 17 finale, one judge said she plans to “purchase a ticket” to one of his future shows.

After Tuesday’s final performances, it looks like the competition may have a frontrunner for Season 17 of America’s Got Talent.

When country artist Drake Milligan performed his original song “Sounds Like Something I’d Do” for the show’s four judges, he received a standing ovation.

After Drake Milligan, 24, performed for the final time, judge Heidi Klum declared her “the one to beat” and the season’s biggest “standout,” adding, “you can see the public likes you, the camera loves you, I love you.”

Judge Simon Cowell praised Milligan on Tuesday for his repeated use of “Sounds Like Something I’d Do,” which soared to the top of the iTunes country chart after his audition aired in June.

You could have simply walked, and you didn’t, he stated in the episode. You came back and competed, and I believe it was smart to remind us of your celebrity status by performing that song so well.

And, “I honestly believe this is going to be the start of your career,” he said.

Drake Milligan, though, adds that he was “worried” about the potential backlash for repeating a song.

To paraphrase, “you fear that maybe they’re going to feel like you should have brought a new song or anything else,” he tells PEOPLE. “It was great to see their faces light up when they heard what I did with the music,” he said. “It made me feel good to know that they got what I was going for.”

A new victor will be announced on the programme. Howie Mandel, one of the judges, stated Wednesday night that he thinks “there is a possibility” Drake Milligan would win the $1 million prize. A member of the judging panel said, “I believe you really took it home and I think you’re a star,” during the final performance.

As reported by PEOPLE, Drake Milligan plans to invest the grand prize of $1 million towards giving his audience an unforgettable concert experience.

There’s a lot of gear and travel costs to consider while constantly on the road, he says. We’re in a van with a trailer full of equipment, and we’re constantly in need of more so that million dollars would be used to get even more gear on the road and put on a greater show.

Drake Milligan claims that his time on AGT has “changed everything” for his career, regardless of the outcome of the competition.

I’ve been in Nashville for the last five years composing and making an album, and it’s been rough, dude, he says. “It’s hard to get people to show up to shows and get on the radio, and it’s been a tough kind of climb-up,” the contestant said, “but AGT has allowed me that opportunity to get in front of millions of people and break the seal a little bit and break the mould and have the opportunity to sing for a lot of people and get my music out there.”

He continues, “I’m really thankful.”

On Wednesday night at 9 p.m. ET, viewers can tune in to NBC to find out whether Milligan was declared the winner of America’s Got Talent Season 17.
