Hugh Jackman is set to make a return to the character of Wolverine in the upcoming Deadpool 3 series, co-starring opposite Ryan Reynolds.
Using a viral video, Reynolds revealed that Hugh Jackman will reprise his role as Wolverine in the MCU. After missing D23, Reynolds says, “Hey everyone, we’re incredibly disappointed to have missed D23, but we’ve been working very hard on the next ‘Deadpool’ film for a good long time.” The video has gone viral, with over 24 million views on Twitter.

The actor continues, saying he has given a lot of thought to how to make Deadpool’s debut appearance in the MCU memorable: “We need to remain faithful to the character, discover the fresh depth, motive, purpose. Every ‘Deadpool installment should be distinct from the others. That was a tremendous test that made me dig deep inside myself.
Reynolds put a lot of thought into it but came up with nothing. I…I have nothing, he quips. “Yeah, it’s very quiet up here. and quite scary.”
Last but not least, he did have an idea. Reynolds says to the guy who has just entered the scene from behind him, “Hey Hugh, want to play Wolverine one more time?”
The guy in the photo, who seems to be Hugh Jackman, said to the protagonist, “Yeah, fine, Ryan.”

After Disney’s acquisition of 20th Century Fox, Deadpool 3 will be the first Deadpool film to take place inside the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The official release date is set for September 6, 2024.
Hugh Jackman declared his role as Wolverine in 2017’s Logan would be his last, thus Reynolds’ news of Jackman’s comeback has generated a lot of anticipation. The fate of Wolverine in Deadpool 3 is uncertain since he was killed off at the conclusion of the second film.
