In response to fan backlash, Eiza Gonzalez has denied being cast as Elektra in the Daredevil TV series.

Despite what her mentions may have you believe, Eiza Gonzalez has not been cast in the new Daredevil series on Disney+.

Actress Ambulance says she has gotten a lot of hate mail because of reports that she may play Greek assassin Elektra in the upcoming Daredevil: Born Again. She tweeted on Wednesday, “I feel like I’m just going to get it out of the way because one, I’m baffled as to the amount of anger over this, and two, I feel like it saves everyone energy.” And no, I’m not playing Elektra in Daredevil.

Eiza Gonzalez continued, bringing up her continuing series exclusivity deal for the forthcoming science fiction film The Three-Body Problem “If I could only be left alone and not subjected to any more unkind remarks about my playing or stealing, that would be great. a part for which I have no preparation whatsoever. You have my gratitude and best wishes for the future.” The actress said that she would be watching Daredevil and “sending that cast all the love” since she intends “to play a cool superhero at one time in my career.”

It has been announced that Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio will reprise their roles as Daredevil and Kingpin in Matt Corman and Chris Ord’s series adaption, which is scheduled for premiere in 2024. Elektra’s presence in Born Again is unknown at this moment, however, Elodie Yung played the assassin alongside Charlie Cox in Netflix’s three-season Daredevil series from 2015–2017.
