Mayim Bialik of Celebrity Jeopardy! had an embarrassing moment when a contestant compliments Ken Jennings on his presenting abilities.
HOST At one point during an episode of Celebrity Jeopardy!, Mayim Bialik felt a little out of place. One of the competitors commended Ken Jennings tonight.
The 48-year-old former champion works with the 46-year-old Call Me Kat celebrity.
Next week on Celebrity Jeopardy! Three more competitors, Constance Wu, Ike Barinholtz, and Jalen Rose, joined Mayim Bialik in the competition.
The presenter, however, posed a challenging question to Ike at the game’s intermission.
You must love Jeopardy! very much.” She then added, “More specifically, you’re a tremendous admirer of Ken Jennings?”
However, Ike was adamant about not taking sides in the Mayim Bialik vs. Ken controversy that has divided Jeopardy! viewers ever since the two hosts started sharing the spotlight.
Let me say right off the bat that I am a tremendous admirer of him as a player,” the actor said.
“I’m not religious at all in my role as host. You and he are both very loved by me.
As Ike uncomfortably shrugged his hands, the studio crowd erupted in laughter.
A fan of Jeopardy!, he admitted to tuning in often. when he was a youngster onwards.
Alex Trebek has gone through three different mustaches while I’ve been watching him, he quipped.
CONTROVERSY ABOUT HOSTING
Currently, Mayim Bialik hosts the Sunday night edition of Celebrity Jeopardy! on ABC at 8 p.m. EST.
However, since the season’s debut on September 25th, people have criticized her hosting abilities on the spinoff series.
Meanwhile, Ken is in charge of the regular weekday shows until Mayim takes over in January.
After months of debate about whether producers would dismiss either Mayim or Ken, the decision to maintain both hosts permanently was confirmed on July 27.
Fans have been sharply split regarding which of the two is the better host since they were put in the same position in January 2021.
But in a September interview with Inside Jeopardy!, Ken said that he liked the show’s two hosts.
‘TO EACH HIS OWN
He added, Jeopardy’s audience is so large and varied that it’s impossible to satisfy everyone every night.”””
That, however, is the benefit, in my opinion, of having more than one host.
‘It’s a question of taste, hosting style,’ he said.
