Actress Eileen Ryan, Sean Penn’s mother and the star of “Magnolia,” dead at the age of 94.

According to a statement sent by Sean Penn’s spokesperson, the actor’s mother and fellow actress Eileen Ryan passed away on Sunday at her home. In terms of age, she was 94.

The 16th of October would have been Ryan’s 95th birthday. Her exact cause of death was not revealed.

Over the course of her two-decade career, Ryan performed in more than 60 films and TV series, including memorable roles in cult classics like “Eight Legged Freaks” (2002) and “Feast” (2005). She has also made appearances in the critically praised films “Magnolia” (1999) and “I Am Sam” (2001).

Her television roles span from 1960’s “The Twilight Zone” to shows like “E.R.” “Ally McBeal” and “NYPD Blue” a full 35 years later.

According to the statement, Eileen Ryan, whose given name is Eileen Annucci, met her late husband during a New York City rehearsal for “The Iceman Cometh” in 1957.

50 Cent’s son gave him $6,700 to repair their strained relationship.

The couple reportedly moved in together a week after meeting and tied the knot a few months later. Their 41-year marriage ended with Leo Penn’s death in 1998.

Besides Sean Penn, the pair also raised Michael Penn, who had a hit with “No Myth” in the late ’80s, and the late actor Chris Penn, who was in films like “Reservoir Dogs” and “True Romance.”

Chris Penn passed away in January 2006, only 40 years old.
