In January, the comedian discussed his hopes and dreams of hosting the Academy Awards.

In 2020, as host of the Golden Globes, Ricky Gervais delivered a divisive speech criticizing the Hollywood establishment and major technology corporations like Amazon and Apple.
It has been reported that the nominations for the 73rd annual Golden Globe Awards will be published on December 12, 2022, and that the ceremony will be held on January 10, 2023.
