Tina Turner, who is 82 years old, made a statement saying, “I am thrilled to welcome my Barbie into the community of groundbreaking women currently represented and expose more youngsters to my journey.”
In celebration of the 40th anniversary of her smash single “What’s Love Got To Do With It,” toymaker Mattel has released a Barbie doll modeled like Tina Turner.
Their Barbie doll, part of their Barbie Characteristic Music Series, is decked out in a look straight out of the video for the song: a black minidress, a denim jacket, and Barbie’s signature haircut.

The eight-time Grammy winner and her then-husband Ike Turner had tremendous success in the late 1960s and early 1970s, but their turbulent marriage led to a divorce in 1978.
The Tina Turner Musical, a stage adaptation of Turner’s life and career, premiered on Broadway in early November 2019.
Following the conclusion of her last tour in 2009, she hung up her microphone for good.
The native Tennessean Turner relocated to Switzerland in 1995 to live with her German-born record producer boyfriend Erwin Bach, whom she married in 2013. In April of the same year, Turner also became a citizen of Switzerland. You can buy the doll at MattelCreations.com, as well as on Amazon, Walmart, and Target.
