As Hurricane Ian is expected to become a Category 4 storm, Florida residents are stocking up on essentials to prepare for possible landfall later this week.
Hurricane Ian made landfall early Tuesday 27 Sept. in Cuba’s Pinar del Rio province.
Hundreds of thousands of residents in the west of the island were left without power because of storm damage.
The hurricane made landfall just southwest of the town of La Coloma in the Pinar del Río province in western Cuba around 4:30 a.m. ET
Earlier in the day, Tampa Mayor Jane Castor tweeted a video from the MacFarlane Park, 1700 N MacDill Ave, urging residents to get ready.
