With the announcement that Jesse Lee Soffer is departing Chicago P.D. after 10 seasons, Tracy Spiridakos has some thoughts to share.
I suppose news has gotten out…
Tracy Spiridakos commented on Instagram, “Jesse, what can I say, you’re the absolute greatest.” I appreciate your help, advice, and friendship very much. You’re every woman’s dream when it comes to fictional husbands. Being on set with you every day will be something I will miss. Whatever the future has for you, I hope it’s exciting. #upsteadforever.”
Soffer, who plays Det. Jay Halstead on the Dick Wolf procedural will leave the show this autumn, as has been previously reported.

Since the show’s 2014 launch on the peacock network, Soffer has been a regular cast member of the NBC drama. In a statement made after the news broke, the actor expressed his thanks to the production and his co-stars.

The statement read, “I want to thank the incredible fans for their unwavering support during the past 10 years and want to express my deepest gratitude to Dick Wolf and everyone at Wolf Entertainment, Peter Jankowski, Matt Olmstead, Derek Haas, Michael Brandt, Rick Eid, Gwen Sigan, NBC, Universal Television, my fellow castmates, and our incredible crew.” Producing this weekly hour-long play has been a labor of passion for everyone involved. I’m glad I got to serve as Detective Jay Halstead.
Det. Jay Halstead, played by Soffer, is the younger brother of Dr. Will Halstead, played by Nick Gehlfuss, on Chicago Med.
