“Challengers directed by Luca Guadagnino stars Zendaya as Tashi Duncan, a former tennis prodigy turned coach and a force of nature who makes no apologies for her game on and off the court,” according to the film’s synopsis. Tashi’s plot for her husband’s(Mike Faist)redemption takes a startling turn when he must face up against the washed-up Patrick (Josh O’Connor from The Crown), his former best buddy and Tashi’s previous boyfriend. Tashi must question herself, “What will it cost to win?” when their pasts and present meet and tensions rise. The plot follows Zendaya’s Duncan as she arranges a tumultuous reunion between herself, her husband Art (Faist), and her former flame Patrick (O’Connor). Art agrees to compete in the “Challengers” tennis tournament when Duncan persuades him, only to discover that he will play against his old nemesis and closest buddy, Patrick.
