Due to health concerns, Alan Jackson has had to cancel his Atlantic City performance.

TRANSPORTATION TO AND FROM ATLANTIC CITY — Alan Jackson, a country music legend, will not be performing this Friday at Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall as planned due to health concerns.

Boardwalk Hall announced in a statement on Tuesday that the music legend has been struggling with Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease (CMT), thus the delay.

Jackson, now 63, has had to cope with the illness for quite some time. The Mayo Clinic describes CMT as a degenerative nerve disease that often manifests in early adulthood or late childhood. Muscle weakness, small muscle size, diminished sensitivity, hammertoes, and high arches are all symptoms.

Jackson added, “I hate to disappoint my fans, so I really thought I could be there.” I’ve done my best to schedule this program for now.

If a new date is announced for next year, the original tickets will be honored. Boardwalk Hall promised to provide ticketholders with further details by email.
