Ratched Season 2, a new American psychological thriller series created by Evan Romansky and produced by Ryan Murphy, and available on Netflix, stars Sarah Paulson as Nurse Mildred Ratched.
It is a precursor to Milos Forman‘s 1975 film One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, which was based on Ken Kesey’s 1962 novel of the same name.
Before the events featured in the film, Mildred Ratched’s life is presented, but in a different condition (California as opposed to Oregon).
Netflix ordered two seasons of Ratched, and the first season premiered on September 18, 2020, on the streaming site.

Are There Any Newcomers on the Ratched Season 2 Cast?

There will be three cast members in Nurse Mildred Ratched: Sarah Paulson as the main character, Finn Wittrock as the serial killer Edmund Tolleson, and Amanda Plummer as Sophie Okonedo, one of Tolleson’s accomplices.
Cynthia Nixon, who played Ratched’s love interest Gwendolyn Briggs in the original, will reprise her role as Nurse Betsy Bucket in the upcoming reboot.
When it came time for the second season to wrap up, Ryan Murphy and the other showrunners had other ideas. The season ended with Nurse Bucket taking leadership of Lucia State instead of Nurse Ratched and Briggs starting a new life together in Mexico.
As a consequence of a groundbreaking therapy that used mistletoe, Briggs found that she was in remission from cancer.
But she was destined to die from the start, and we can’t consider her out of the woods just yet.
During an interview with The Release Dates, Nixon stated, “It wasn’t supposed to have a happy ending at the close of season one, but [the creators] altered it.” When they first started writing the script, they intended to kill off quite a few characters.
Edmund Ratched, Ratched’s brother, is presently on the run with Ratched’s lover Louise and Charlotte, a woman with various personalities.
In light of the revelation that his sister had meant to murder him, he has vowed to get revenge and may now begin his search for retribution.
If the two do cross paths again, is it possible that they can mend their relationship?
One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest-like events are looming large throughout the series, but how we get there is still up for debate.
Mildred will be put through the wringer regardless of what happens, so she may become the spiteful and power-hungry nurse we are all familiar with.
As she told The Wrap in an interview, “I feel if we wind up that age, it would be more about Nurse Ratched’s life when she turned the key in her white uniform. “After those days in the hospital and all the events there,” “coming back into her house.”
As a result, Mildred has likely grown much more difficult to deal with because the thing that kept her soft was the love and protection needed for absolution that pertained to her brother.” You’ll probably see her again now that she’s grown much more challenging.
